FACES OF ARCHITECTURE

Name: Darroch White

Firm: D.M. White Architecture Inc.

How long have you been in business? 7 Years

What’s a recent project you worked on in New Brunswick? Renovations to the UNB Harriet Irving Library.

Why do you love being an architect? The fusion of visual and technical; I like when an assembly of parts gains a spirit.

What piece of New Brunswick architecture inspires you and why? The McLeod Avenue townhouses we did a few years back; it has a beautiful site completing the edge of Queen Square in Fredericton, I like the contextual response, it has a modern but non-trendy color palette, and is a place I would like to live.

What’s a “must see” piece of architecture in New Brunswick? The Old Government House in Fredericton.

What piece of advice would you offer to someone considering architecture as a career? Bring your best game and be ready for strong currents.
