NOTES TO RATES

1. PRINCIPAL is defined as a principal owner of a firm and/or holder of certificate of practice acting in the following situations ONLY:
   1. Contract negotiation
   2. Use of Stamp: Work which shall requiring affixing a Stamp to:
      1. Working drawings issued for tender, construction, Fire Marshal approval, building permit and/or Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
      2. Any drawing or sketch produced during the course of tender or construction while modified the aforementioned documents and/or are part of addenda, change orders, specifications or clarifications
      3. Final specification issued for one of the proposed given in (i) or (ii)
      4. Progress Claims
      5. Substantial completion and Final completion certificates
      6. A Report authored by the firm.
   3. Interim inspection; substantial completion inspection
   4. Dispute requiring the presence of the principal
2. Years Experience; Architects → After Registration
3. Years Experience; Technicians/Technologists → After Graduation
4. Hourly Rates have been calculated using typical salaries consistent with years of experience, the RAIC Canadian Handbook of Practice (CHOP), and the use of Billable hours.
5. Billable Hours on assumption of a 7.5 hour Work Day as follows:

Eg. 1950 hours – 112.5 hours + 75 hours (2 weeks vacation) + 82.5 hours = 1995 Total Billable Hours
