The Bathurst CCNB administrative offices are located in a exquisite chapel that is a vital part of the campus’ architectural heritage. The chapel rests on a colonnade asymemetrically arranged in space, and is famous for its oval shape, central cone-shaped roof, and brilliant skylight.

The CCNB, recognizing the need for a modern videoconference room and reception area, sought an architectural design that would stay true to the heritage and atmosphere of the chapel. The result is a stunning conference room located at the highest part of the roof, surrounding the existing skylight. Curtain walls going up to the ceiling on each side of the room keep the space visually opened, while polished glass at the floor level maintain the privacy required for the room. The patterns on the glass are a continuity of the patterns on the wood panels that have been added inside the room to improve acoustic performance. The conference room offers a bright, airy feel with extensive natural light complimented by light wood and glass.

The brilliant architecture of the new addition offers a highly functional, modern space, while still preserving the history and ambiance of the beloved chapel.
