A joint venture between Georgia Pacific, Scotia Insulation and Elastochem Spray Foam Insulation. This presentation will focus on understanding the 4 control layers of the building enclosure (Water, Air, Thermal, Vapour) and will show how various insulation strategies that can help deliver effective building enclosures.

Elastochem is the only Canadian owned and operated spray foam insulation manufacturer. Our company is run by a team of chemists and we have developed some unique products in the marketplace:

Wrapsulate is the first vapour-open, 1lb open-cell product that has CCMC approval to be used on the exterior of buildings. The benefit of this is that you get your 4-control layer in 1 product (Water, Air & Thermal) and yet still maintain the drying potential of the wall assembly to deal with water and condensation when it builds up in the enclosure. This provides for a much more durable building enclosure.

Insulthane Extreme is a 2lb closed cell spray foam insulation. Extreme has the highest LTTR R-value at R6.1/inch on the market (Same a BASF Wal-tite) but we use a new low GWP of 1(Global Warming Potential) 4th generation blowing agent in our product. This means the blowing agent we use has the same effect on global warming as carbon dioxide. Other Closed cell spray foams on the market have GWP’s ranging from 700 to 1400 or so.

Insulthane 200 is an industry standard 2lb closed cell spray foam using 3rd generation blowing agent technology with and LTTR R-value of R5.7/inch.
