Saint John, NB – The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and the Architects’ Association of New Brunswick (AANB) are pleased to announce that Saint John, New Brunswick has been selected as the host location for the 2018 annual Festival of Architecture.

The RAIC Festival is held every year in a selected location across the country. In 2008, the Festival was held in Fredericton.

“The Architects’ Association of New Brunswick and our members are very excited to welcome the Festival to our province,” said Darroch White, AANB President.”

“In 2018, the AANB will be celebrating 85 years of architectural excellence and as part of our year of celebrations we look forward to welcoming our professional colleagues from across Canada for this great event. The local planning committee, under the leadership of Saint John architect Malcolm Boyd, has already started making plans to welcome everyone to Saint John, New Brunswick.”

The Festival is a partnership between the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, the Architects’ Association of New Brunswick and the host location, the City of Saint John.

The Festival will take place from May 30th to June 2nd, 2018. Each Festival includes not only events for delegates, but also community activities and special events that will be open to the public.

“The Festival will be an excellent event for the professional delegates and will also act as an opportunity to connect with the broader community,” said White. “Through community events, speakers and special tours it is our goal to celebrate with the public how architecture impacts and builds our communities, our province and our country.”

Further information about speakers and activities will be made available in the coming months.
